0 <br />Conservation Partners Legacy Grant Program <br />Partner Commitment Letter <br />September 20, 2021 <br />Dear Grant Review Team, <br />I am writing this letter to document our commitment to a project that is seeking to be funded by the <br />Conservation Partnership Legacy Grant Program, "Houlton Conservation Area Streambank Protection". <br />This project is a joint effort between multiple entities that have pooled resources in order to restore and <br />protect this sensitive area of public land. The City of Elk River owns and maintains the property where <br />this work would be completed, the William H. Houlton Conservation Area, and as such would serve as <br />the Land Manager for this project. The Sherburne SWCD will serve as the Project Manager and Fiscal <br />Agent, while additional partners in the development stage of this project have included local Department <br />of Natural Resources staff as well as staff from the Friends of the Mississippi River. <br />The City of Elk River will be contributing a cash contribution of $31,000 towards this project as <br />described below, for a total of $32,283 which includes in kind staff time. <br />Project Item Rate Value Fundin Source — <br />Engineering Project Manager — Project $44.35/hr $887.00 City of Elk River General <br />Ovens ht Fund <br />Environmental Coordinator� � � �.�._.......mm ...._.,.�... <br />�— Project $39.59/hr $396.00 City of Elk River General <br />Maxket Outreach Fund <br />Cash Contribution n/a $31,000 StormwatermManagement <br />Fund <br />The funds that the City of Elk River are providing in match are generated from the city's stormwater <br />program fee which includes activities to maintain compliance with stormwater Best Management <br />Practices (BMPS), including reducing sediment and other pollutants from entering local water resources. <br />Staff time is generated from the city's general fund.
