Under these
regulations,the term"creditor"encompasses all utilities,including municipal utilities,because
they provide service ahead of payment. "Red Flag"is the term used in the regulations to refer
to warning signs that a customer's personal information has been compromised.
Theresa Slominski remarked that a lot of the requirements in this red flag policy are
already in place. A proposed policy which was reviewed by the attorney was presented for
adoption.
John Dietz moved to adopt the Red Flag/Identity theft Protection Policy as of November 1,
2008,as presented.
