UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />September 14, 2021 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Delivered 12 new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop ties <br />from 11 water services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the <br />Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). <br /> Completed 22 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards. <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> Completed two Total Trihalomethanes and Haloacetic Acids samples for the MDH. <br /> We have received the executedgrant of easements that we were seeking for the <br />Watermain Relocation Improvements project; this will allow us to drop the alternate <br />from our bid, saving $66,455. <br />Work is scheduled to start mid-Septemberfor relocating water main in preparationfor <br />the highway 169 project. <br />There has been positive response to ourbackflow prevention program. We have <br />performed tests onclose to twodozen residential irrigation backflow prevention <br />devices. <br /> Sprint/T-Mobile has started work on upgrading cell antenna equipment on Gary Street <br />Water Tower. <br /> We have replaced numerous large commercial water meters this year.
