Board of Adjustments Minutes Page 2 <br /> February 23,2021 <br /> There being no one present to speak, Acting Chair Thiel closed the public hearing. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Beise and seconded by Commissioner Feinstein to <br /> approve the accessory structure height and quantity variances, and the sign <br /> quantity and dimension variances as noted below, for the following reasons: <br /> 1. The general purpose and intent of the ordinance are met. <br /> 2. The property has a land use of Residential and the uses are <br /> consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> 3. The proposed uses are reasonable and are permitted in the zoning <br /> ordinance. <br /> 4. The plight of the petitioner is due to circumstances unique to the <br /> property not a consequence of the petitioner's own action or inaction. <br /> 5. The variance will not alter the essential character of the locality. <br /> Four accessory structures, one press box, two team rooms/storage and one <br /> ticketing/concession, for a total of 9,545 square feet: <br /> Structure Area Height <br /> Press Box 540 33'-3" <br /> Home Team Room/Storage 3,000 16'-8" <br /> Visitor Team Room/Storage 2,444 16'-8" <br /> Ticketing/Concessions 3,561 21'-4" <br /> Schools, in residentially zoned areas, are allowed one freestanding sign and <br /> one wall sign not to exceed 96 square feet in total sign area. Where a zoning <br /> lot has more than 1,000 linear feet of combined street frontage, the total sign <br /> area shall not exceed 192 square feet with no more than 96 square feet per <br /> sign. This zoning lot qualifies for the additional square footage. <br /> Freestanding signage shall not exceed 20 feet in height. The applicant is <br /> requesting five signs totaling 301 square feet. <br /> Sign Area Height <br /> Emblem—Wall 28 <br /> Emblem—Wall 28 <br /> Elk River High School Stadium-Wall 92 <br /> Tickets - Wall 5 <br /> School Sign—Wall 148 <br /> Motion carried 6-0. <br /> Any appeals to this variance approval need to be turned in by March 5, 2021, to be <br /> reviewed at the Monday, March 15, 2021, City Council meeting. <br /> 5.
