Increase organics recycling via incentives for the drop off <br />increase recycling participation by 3% program (farmers market promo in 2021). Continue to provide information to new <br />residents on both items. Work with Sherburne County to promote/expand their <br />services for HHW, battery recycling and other items. <br />Host two events annually, expand list of item for collection by program (carpet, <br />mattresses, furniture). Recycle more items and reduce amount sent to Elk River <br />Promote and expand community Clean Up Day.Landfill (major change for 2019). Continue with two events each year via county <br />funding. Promote other local recyclers between events via social media and city <br />website (and resident phone calls). <br />Promote recycling for construction, remodeling and new development in the city. <br />Provide recycling at community events as able and improve current event recycling <br />Increase recycling in various aspects of the community (ex. Elk RiverFest). Continue to try and connect with local schools about waste <br />including local businesses, industries, events and reduction and possiby organics recycling in schools. Promote and educate about <br />schools. benefits of recycling to local businesses focusing on larger trash generators first, in <br />coordination with BR&E visits when possible. Explore utilizing metro parameters for <br />required commercial recycling. <br />Continue working with EDA and attend BR&E site visits to provide information and <br />Expand trash and recycling education for local resources to local businesses about proper recycling, waste reduction and cost <br />businesses.saving tools for waste management. Utilize local partnerships and community <br />connections to do so. Continue discussing organics recycling where feasible. <br />
