<br /> <br />Meeting of the Elk River <br />Energy City Commission <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Wednesday, February 19, 2020 <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Chair Tom Sagstetter, Commissioners Aaron Brixius, Garrett <br />Christianson, Trish Curtis, Harley Hanson, Becky Herbert, Amy <br />Lord, Alec Plaisted and Tim Steinbeck <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Henry Griner and Jason Hoskins <br /> <br />Staff Present: Amanda Erickson, Environmental Coordinator and Colleen Eddy, <br />Economic Development Specialist <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Energy City <br />Commission was called to order by Chair Sagstetter at 8:00 a.m. <br /> <br />2. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> <br /> Sagstetter led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. Consider Agenda <br /> <br /> Chair Sagstetter added item 5.9 Commission Vacancies to the agenda. The amended <br />agenda was approved, motion by Brixius, second by Lord. <br /> <br />4. Consider Minutes <br /> <br />Consider minutes from the November 20, 2019 meetings. Minutes approved, motion <br />by Curtis, second by Brixius. <br /> <br />5.1 Member Updates <br /> <br /> Commissioner Steinbeck provided a brief update (later in the meeting) about the <br />land along the Mississippi River across Highway 10 from the GRE plant that will be <br />decommissioned and demolished in the next year. GRE staff is working with Elk <br />River Park & Recreation staff to create access at this site for fishing and recreation <br />for residents. GRE’s goal would be to incorporate Energy City into a site and the <br />legacy of GRE’s facility that was a significant factor in the Energy City designation. <br />Additional review is needed for these plans but more information to come. <br /> <br /> <br />5.2 Energy City Insights <br /> <br />
