______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />ERMU Commission <br />FROM: <br />Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />July 13, 2021 <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Delivered 13 new water meters. <br />• Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from 11 water services. <br />• Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br />• Completed 22 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards. <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />• Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for <br />the Diesel Generation Plant. <br />• With the hot, dry weather, we pumped 169.9 million gallons of water in June. <br />• In conjunction with the current city street improvement projects, a faulty water main <br />valve on Jackson Avenue was replaced. <br />• Water department staff shut down the water main on Twin Lakes Road for connection <br />of the new water main for the Tranquil Meadows development. <br />• Work has started on the annual Water System Leak Detection Survey. <br />• The water mains that cross Highway 10 at Upland Avenue and Proctor Avenue have <br />been partially replaced. The remaining sections at these crossings will be replaced later <br />this summer in the next phase of the Highway 10 rebuild project. <br />• Water Operator Sam France started on June 10; he is a great addition to our team. <br />• Water department staff have been working with city staff for connection to the water <br />system for the Orono Park construction project. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />• June 2021 Pumping by Well <br /> <br />131
