<br />August 15, 2005 <br />Memorandum - Page 2 <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the Council accept the bid from Structural Buildings of Becker to <br />include the base bid of $59,951.00, along with Alt. #2 the insulation package for $33,743.00, <br />for a total bid of $93,694.00. The funding source is the government building reserve. <br /> <br />2. Salt Storage Building - The following bids were received for a fabric covered salt <br />storage building: <br /> <br />o Greystone Construction - <br />Base Bid $ 90,435.00 <br />Alt. #1 - Base bid, plus pre-cast T-panels <br />For retaining walls $137,725.00 <br />Alt. #2 - Base bid, plus cast in place concrete <br />building foundation and retaining <br />walls $159,980.00 <br /> <br />o Ebert Construction - <br />Base Bid $122,900.00 <br />Alt. #1 - Base bid, plus pre-cast T-panels <br />for salt retaining walls $168,500.00 <br />Alt. #2 - Base bid, plus cast in place concrete <br />building foundation and retaining <br />walls $230,900.00 <br /> <br />A fabric covered structure is not specifically addressed for the 1-1 Zone, so Staff suggests a <br />public hearing before the Planning Commission on Tuesday, August 23,2005 with their <br />recommendation coming before City Council on September 6, 2005. <br /> <br />3. Base and Bituminous Paving at the Public Works Site <br /> <br />o Universal Paving <br />o Magnum Co. <br />o Bauerly Co. <br />o Northwest Asphalt <br /> <br />$227,480.00 <br />228,420.00 <br />246,281.00 <br />261,035.00 <br /> <br />Universal Paving has done several paving jobs for the City recently and all have been <br />satisfactory. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council accept the bid by Universal Paving for $227,480.00 <br />for the aggregate base and bituminous paving for the public works site and compost drop <br />off facility. The funding source is the government building reserve. <br />
