supported it. I am not an unreasonable person nor a NIMBY, I viewed this issue the same as any other
project before me. For this complex the rubber meets the road on this single issue: This can't be
approved without a real traffic solution. The Waco extension MUST be part of this project or it must be
delayed or rejected.
Virtually every day since last week I have spoken to at least one area resident who saw me outside,
getting my mail, bringing in my trash can, taking a walk or sitting out front with my dog. Every single
time the issue was the traffic, the traffic study they know isn't reality, and - nearly unanimously - "if they
finished Waco I wouldn't have an issue". My neighbors are not unreasonable people but they are afraid
for their neighborhood. I share their concerns.
Without the Waco solution you are imposing a major change in environment on these residents. You
are imposing major livability changes on these residents and impacting negatively their property
values. While the developer has property rights and expectations, the same is true of existing
residents. That is especially true when there is a simple solution to the entire problem: Finish the
extension to Waco. Without it you would be taking away property rights from all the people who
invested in Elk River and their homes in our neighborhood and giving those rights to the developer.
I know you all to be reasonable people who value your residents. Please consider the peaceful livability
of the people of my neighborhood as you deliberate this issue.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
John Jordan
18401 Yankton St NW
