Economic Development Authority Minutes Page 3 <br /> May 17,2021 <br /> 7.4 Together Elk River Campaign Update <br /> Ms. Eddy presented the staff report. <br /> Commissioner Wagner stated that a business survey would be sent to Elk River <br /> businesses to determine if an "open during construction" sign would be beneficial <br /> for their business. If they felt it would be useful, the City would print and distribute <br /> these signs. <br /> Commissioner Blesener suggested creating a series of signs going along Highway 10 <br /> or Highway 169 to show people driving through that Elk River is a fun community <br /> with a sense of humor. The signs could be modeled after"Burma-Shave" ads which <br /> were popular in the 1920s to 1960s to display a series of messages that Elk River was <br /> still open for business despite the construction. <br /> 8.
