I've been through the same interview/appointment process once for the Arena Design
Team, 2 times for Parks & Rec Commission & once for the Furniture and Things
Community Event Center Advisory Commission & I've always thought the process worked
fine up until this year. Due to the issues that arose this year, I think automatic
reappointments for those that meet the attendance requirements would alleviate said issues.
The question that was asked to me was very vague and open ended, A little more direction
with the question would be helpful.
I’m not sure I have any good insight on this matter. I think a fair and timely posting of such
an upcoming open position for anyone to discover and inquire about, is about as fair as it
can be made. Should one, or two, persons find themselves wanting an appointment, I do
agree that it should be the duty of the City Council to decide who meets the need based
upon testimony from the candidates if they choose to give.
