UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Chris Sumstad– Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />April 13, 2021 6.1h <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Installed sevennew residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary <br />line once the customer requests service. <br /> Finished the tree trimming season at the end of March. <br /> The new directional boring machine arrived March 22 and with the early spring melt, <br />the boring crew was able to start onMarch 29. <br /> The County Road 35 overhead feeder rebuild continues. Most of the customers are now <br />transferred to the new line. Once all customers are transferred, the old line will be <br />removed. <br /> Installed five new underground services along County Road 35. These were existing <br />overhead services and are related to the overhead feeder that line crews are building. <br /> Installed underground lines to two existing customers along County Road 13. This <br />allowed us to remove them from the overhead line which needs to be moved further <br />back from the street with the upcoming rebuildofthat road. <br /> Diversified Inspections performed the annual inspection and dielectric testing on our <br />bucket and digger trucks. <br />I attended the Emergency Preparedness& Restoration Conference put on bythe <br />Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association in St. Cloud on March 16 and 17. <br />A threephasetransformer was struckand knocked fromitsbasement most likelybya <br />vehicle at the landfill. This resulted in only minor damage to the transformer. <br />th <br /> A single phase transformer was struck by a tree felled by a builder in the Hillside 12 <br />edition.
