UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March9, 2021 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Delivered twelvenew water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from eightwater services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmednegative for Coliform Bacteria <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 19 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />o Completed one MDH validation fluoride sample <br /> Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plant to the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br /> Submitted Tier II Annual Reports to Homeland Security for the Diesel Generation Plant <br />and all the Water Treatment Plants. <br /> Installation of Verizon Wireless cell phone communication equipment continues at <br />Freeport Water Tower.A larger handrailsystem has beeninstalled on topof the tower <br />to be able to handle the load of all the antenna equipment being installed. <br /> T-Mobile/Sprint has submitted plans to upgrade antenna equipment on Gary Street <br />Water Tower. They have notified us that they will also be upgrading equipment on <br />Auburn Street and Johnson Street Water Towers soon. <br /> On February 23, a report came in of water bubbling up through the sidewalk at the <br />southwest corner of Highway 10 and Jackson Avenue. Water operators quicklyfigured <br />out that the water service for 707 Highway 10was leaking. The water service has been <br />shut off to stop the leak from undermining the sidewalk along Highway 10. The building <br />has temporary water service connected to the neighboring building until the main water <br />service line can be excavated and repaired. <br /> Water Department Staff installed a temporary camera on top of Gary Street Water <br />Tower to record progress of the City’s Lake Orono Restoration and Enhancement <br />Project. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />373 <br />
