Housing and Redevelopment Minutes Page 3 February 1,2021 ----------------------------- Moved by Commissioner Ovall and seconded by Commissioner Swenson to re- appoint Larry Toth as an HRA Representative to the HRA/EDA Joint Finance Committee. Motion carried 5-0. Ms. Eddy asked if there were any new committee assignments or new committees. There were currently no recommendations by the HRA. 7.3 Main and Gates Redevelopment Update A* Ms. Eddy presented the staff report. She requested the HRA schedule a work session to discuss their vision for this area as the city is receiving a lot of interest. She explained the HRA can discuss what they want to see here and provide an opportunity for discussion. She distributed the Mississippi Connections map for the HRA to review prior to the work session. Commissioner Wagner asked how much time Ms. Eddy thought was needed*e felt holding a work session prior to the regular meeting would not allow them the time to be thorough and not feel rushed. Chair Toth also preferred to have it,on a date,different than before a regular meeting. Mr. Portner stated the commissions ould allow some time toink about the Mississippi Connections Plan and how it guides this area. He suggested waiting until after the special joint meeting on February 22,where they along with the community will discuss and develop the downtown redevelopment vision and the HRA can then see how that will connect to this area. It was the consensus of the commission to hold a special work session on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ommissioner Wagner asked if there had been any additional marketing of the site besides the sign. Ms. Eddy stated a recent article was published in the Elk River Star News and a future developer forum will be scheduled as soon as able. Commissioner Wagner suggested utilizing LinkedIn to advertise this site rather than Facebook. 7.4 HRA Rehabilitation Loan Update Ms. Eddy presented the staff report.
