NOT historically significant. Each building was individually <br />researched. The Context Study was very critical of historical <br />preservation in the core downtown. As included in the Downtown <br />Task Force report, the entire context study is pretty much relegated to a <br />statement that "The study concluded that none of the 23 properties <br />appeared to be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. <br />However, 5 buildings on the west side of Jackson Ave were <br />recommended for further preservation study..." No further study has <br />ever occurred. Basically, the Task Force, because of it's bent on <br />preserving the old, decided to pretty much ignore the Context Study. <br />Council Member <br />November 19, 2012 - Part IV, page 12 - <br />
