<br /> CORE VS. CASUAL TRENDS IN GENERAL SPORTS
<br />The most popular sports, such as Basketball and Baseball, have a larger core participant base
<br />(engaged 13+ times annually) than casual participant base (engaged at least 1 time annually).
<br />Less mainstream, less organized sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, Roller Hockey, Squash, and
<br />Boxing for Competition have larger casual participation. Although these sports increased in
<br />participation over the last five years, the newcomers were mostly casual participants that may
<br />be more inclined to switch to other sports or fitness activities, resulting in the declining one-
<br />year trends.
