<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 7, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on <br />November 7, 1966. Members present: Mayor Coles, Clerk Briggs, Trustee Cartelt, Trustee Syring. <br />Trustee Hudson was absent. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Coles. The minutes of the <br />last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Dan Bailey and Robert Johnson were present. There was discussion regarding the proposed <br />development at Main Street and Highway No. 169. Robert Johnson and members of the Planning <br />Commission, Dan Bailey and Paul Siegler could not agree on what is best for that location <br />considering the traffic problem and the type of planning. Attorney Mac Gibbon was also present. <br />He suggested having a general rezoning meeting to discuss the matter further. <br /> <br />th <br />A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Briggs that such a meeting by set for December 5 <br />at 7:30 P.M. Carried. Mr. Mac Gibbon will draft the notice of the meeting. <br /> <br />The Council decided to have three judges for the Village Election Board December 6. <br /> <br />Mrs. Kemp, Librarian was present and told what the budget will be for next year. The library needs <br />more money and the levy may have to be raised. It was suggested that possibly the Elk River <br />Township could help out on the library fund. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bartelt and seconded by Briggs to have engineer Mills make a preliminary <br />report on street work and seal coating necessary in the near future.
