<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 17, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on <br />October 17, 1966. All members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Coles. The <br />minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Syring to grant an on sale beer license to Eagles <br />Lodge. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Police Chief wants a traffic sign on the street by the Senior High School. He will order one. <br /> <br />Mr. Devner of Elk River Sanitation was present. He collects garbage in the Village and would like to <br />have a key to the dump as he has loads to dump when the dump may be open. A motion was made <br />by Syring and seconded by Hudson to charge him $15.00 per month for dump privileges. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Robert Johnson and Neil Larson met with the Council regarding a special permit for proposed <br />development at Main Street and Highway 169. The Council recommended that they contact the Elk <br />River Planning Commission in regard to having this tract rezoned as R.C. <br /> <br />Stanley Wheaton was present and asked about a deed dated October 1, 1903 by which the Village of <br />Elk River acquired the right to maintain a public street across Block 4, Village of Elk River. There <br />being no further use of this street the Village is asked to vacate it. See copy attached. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bartelt and seconded by Hudson that the Village vacate said street subject to <br />approval of Village Attorney Mac Gibbon. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Manager Robt. Reynolds reported that the new sign at the Liquor Store is not satisfactory and that it <br />is out at times. <br /> <br />Building permit was approved for Earl Hohlen. <br /> <br />Motion by Hudson seconded by Bartelt to accept street maintenance with Sherburne County.
