<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 15, 1966 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order on August <br />15, 1966 by Mayor Coles. All members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Applications for building permits by Thomas Weiss and Elk River Home Improvement Co. were <br />approved. On this date a hearing was held as advertised regarding paving of School Street from <br />Jackson Avenue east approximately 750 feet and Third Street from Hold to Gates. Present were Mr. <br />and Mrs. Ed Peterson, Herman Becker, Herbert Johnson. Few objections were heard. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt that engineer Mills be directed to make a <br />pre-liminary report on paving School Street from Jackson Ave east two blocks to existing paving. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Hudson second by Syrvig that Engineer Mills be directed to make report on the paving <br />of Third Street from Holt Ave to Gates Ave Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt to publish notice of public hearing about <br />this paving, to be held at Village Hall on Aug 15, 1966 at 8 P.M. carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Syrvig and seconded by Hudson to resurface Jackson Ave from Highway 10 to Main St. <br />And Main Street from Jackson to Highway 101. Carried. <br /> <br />A summons and complain was received on July 28, 1966 against the Municipal Liquor Store, <br />attached herewith. Motion by Briggs and seconded by Bartelt to authorize Atty John E MacGibbon <br />to represent the village in the case. <br /> <br />Trustee Bartelt proposed the following resolution requested by the Planning Commission and <br />moved its adoption. It was seconded by Hudson and passed, all voting in favor. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Flexible Pipe Tool tools for sewer 54.16 <br />Crane and Ordway valve for sewer 8.50 <br />N. Central Pub. Service fuel for sewer 15.17 <br />E.R. Utilities L&P for sewer 128.53 <br />Andy’s Electric service for sewer 37.50 <br />N.W. National Bank bond 963.00 <br />Helmer Bartelt Board of Review 12.00 <br />H.A. Briggs Board of Review 12.00 <br />Robt. Syrvig Board of Review 12.00 <br />Tom Hudson Board of Review 12.00 <br />Walt Coles Board of Review 12.00 <br />Art Barnier labor 286.61 <br />LeRoy Pike labor 300.18 <br />Clarence Kramer labor 240.00 <br /> <br />
