<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 1, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order on August 1, <br />1966 by Mayor Coles. All members present. The minutes of the last meetings were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />A hearing was held regarding paving Lowell Avenue from Main Street to Lookout Place; Paving <br />Lookout Place. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Donais, Mrs. Edith Lero, Elroy <br />Cornelius, Mr. and Mrs. William Greupner, Larry Lewis. There was discussion about the paving and <br />the cost. Nothing further was done at this meeting. Council approved renewed of Elroy Cornelius’ <br />on and off beer license. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt that Engineer Mills be directed to make a <br />preliminary report on paving School Street from Jackson Avenue East two blocks to existing paving. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Hudson, second by Syring that Engineer Mills be directed to make a report on the paving <br />of Third Street from Holt Avenue to Gates Avenue. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt to publish notice of public hearing about <br />this paving, to be held at Village Hall on August 15, 1966 at 8 P.M. Carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Syring and seconded by Hudson to resurface Jackson Avenue from Highway 10 to Main <br />Street and Main Street from Jackson to Highway 101. Carried. <br /> <br />A summons and complaint was received on July 28, 1966 against the Municipal Liquor Store, <br />attached here with. Motion by Briggs and seconded by Bartelt to authorize Atty. John E. Mac <br />Gibbon to represent the Village in the case. <br /> <br />Trustee Bartelt proposed the following resolution requested by the Planning Commission and <br />moved its adoption. It was seconded by Hudson and passed, all voting in favor. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br /> <br />Flexible Pipe Tool – Tool for Sewer $54.46 <br />Cane and Ordway – Value for Sewer $8.50 <br />N. Central Pub. Service – Fuel for Sewer $15.17 <br />E.R. Utilities – L & P for Sewer $128.53 <br />Andy’s Electric – Service for Sewer $34.50 <br />N.W. National Bank Bond - $963 <br />Hilmer Bartelt – Board of Review $12.00 <br />H.A. Briggs – Board of Review $12.00 <br />Robt. Syring – Board of Review $12.00 <br />Tom Hudson – Board of Review $12.00 <br /> <br />
