<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 6, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order on June 6, <br />1966 by Hilmer Bartelt, acting Manager in the absence of Mayor Coles. All other members were <br />present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Hudson that the Street Department be asked to <br />remove the out house at Joe Belanger’s place and also fill a hole there which should be filled. <br /> <br />The Council re-appointed two members of the Planning Commission for three years as of March 1, <br />1966. Richard Gongoll and Albert Bailey, for 1966, 67 and 68 ending December 31, 1968. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Syring to allow up to two $200.00 for Fire Dept. <br />men to attend the Fire School at New Ulm, Minn. Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Syring to issue a special use permit for milk <br />storage building on Jackson Ave to Clover leaf. <br /> <br />Dairy requested by Joseph Barsody. Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Hudson and second by Briggs $450.00 was authorized for swimming lessons in <br />forenoons. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Syring to call for a hearing regarding a certain <br />th <br />sewer extension and paving at attached locations on June 30, 1966 at 8 P.M. at the Village Hall. <br />Motion carried, all voting in favor. <br /> <br />thst <br />A date was set for either June 9 or 21 for a meeting with Mrs. John Firehammer, Village Assessor <br />on some urgent business. <br /> <br />A petition was received signed by Neil Larson asking for paving be done on Angel Street. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to write Doctor Roeblke, Chairman of the Village Board of Health to check on <br />Grover Mabrupe and Louis Haberman regarding health hazards. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved: <br />Art Barnier – Labor $283.63 <br />LeRoy Pike – Labor $288.25 <br />Cecil Garrison – Labor $6.00 <br />Eleanor Ostby – License $3.25 <br />Hugo Strefen – Labor $65.25 <br />Bank of Elk River – Ins. Refund $15.00 <br />Skelly Oil Co. – Sternberg Fuel $7.80 <br />Edwards Sweeping Service – Street Work $330.00 <br />Lester Derr – Fees (Building) $9.00 <br /> <br />
