<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 4, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on April <br />4, 1966. All members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Coles. The minutes <br />of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Dan Jacobowski and ? Frawley representing the Bar Tenders Union were present. They asked for a <br />raise for the bar tenders of 15 cents per hour each year for a period three years, certain extra <br />holidays. Funeral leave and a week vacation for a third week after seven years employment. <br /> <br />The council will consider the request, Rodney Andreson complained that the cub along his lot on <br />Marton Av was not properly put in and the curb has settled. The council will investigate and ask <br />Archie Larson what he can do. <br /> <br />Harry Dreissig, Fire Chief got permission to send one or two men to the State Fire school. <br /> <br />Raymond Bernard was present on account of his application for building a car wash at Lowell Av <br />and Highway No. 10. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bartelt and seconded by Briggs that the permit be granted provided it will be <br />completed by July 1, 1966 and that the premises shall be kept in a neat and presentable appearance, <br />carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Coles reported on his attendance at the League of Minnesota Municipalities on March 24-25, <br />1966. <br /> <br />The clerk was asked to write Robert Milne to set a date when he can come up to have a meeting <br />with the council. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Syring to employ John E. MacGibbon to re-codify <br />the village ordinance at a cost of $625.00 Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved: <br />North Suburban – aid - $25.00 <br />A.N. Johnson Co. – flood work - $136.00 <br />Andy’s Electric – repairs - $5.63 <br />H & S Asphalt – mix - $105.00 <br />National Bushing – Jeep Repair $110.52 <br />Elk River Utilities – Mar. (Vil.) $310.25 <br />Fire Department – Fires $270.00 <br />LeRoy Pike – Labor $304.16 <br />Art Barnier – Labor $394.15 <br />Oliver Micheau – Extra Work $90.00 <br />Oliver Micheau – Subsistence $15.00 <br />Cecil Garrison – Labor $142.40 <br /> <br />
