<br /> <br /> <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and Council 6.2 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Presentations, Awards November 2, 2020 Mark Dickinson, Fire Chief <br />& Recognition <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Oath of Office for new Firefighters Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Mayor to administer the oath of office to the department’s newest members: Mark Wandersee, and Joe <br />Libor, Jr. Following the oath, badges will be pinned to their uniforms by a representative of their choice. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> On Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, Mark Wandersee and Joe Libor Jr., were hired as fulltime firefighters with <br />the City of Elk River. Mark is the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations and Training; and, Joe Libor, Jr. is <br />the Deputy Chief of Administration. <br /> <br />Mark comes to us with 23 plus years of firefighting and Emergency Medical experience. Joe Libor, Jr. <br />worked for the Elk River Ambulance Service and has been an on-call firefighter and Lieutenant with us for 7 <br />years.
