<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> October 19, 2020 <br /> <br />Ms. Colleen Eddy <br />City of Elk River <br /> <br />re: Bulk sample asbestos testing results <br />406 Main Street Northwest <br />Elk River, MN <br /> Techtron Job No. 14284 <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Eddy: <br /> <br />Techtron Engineering, Inc. was retained to perform bulk asbestos sampling and analysis at the <br />referenced property. <br /> <br />Site work was performed by Andy Turbitt, a Minnesota licensed Asbestos Inspector (See <br />Appendix I), on October 13, 2020. <br /> <br />Scope of Study <br /> Testing was limited to the vermiculite insulation present in the raised floor cavity of the main <br />floor front entry room. <br /> <br />Bulk Asbestos Sampling <br /> Bulk samples were collected by wetting the material in question with amended water. A small <br />portion of this material was then removed and placed directly in a sealed container. <br /> <br />Bulk Asbestos Analysis <br /> Analysis was performed by Techtron Engineering in accordance to EPA methodology. This <br />method detects asbestos in volumetric concentrations of 1% or greater. Bulk samples were <br />checked for the following asbestiform minerals: chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, anthophyllite, <br />and tremolite-actinolite. <br /> <br />Bulk Sample Results <br />Three (3) samples were taken from the requested location and analyzed for asbestos. Asbestos <br />was found in the vermiculite loose-fill insulation present in the raised floor cavity. <br /> <br />Analytical results are located in Appendix II. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
