VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING December 4, 1961 A regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Dec 4, 1961. All members were present. Members present: Henry Johnson, Mayor; R.G. Kemper, Lars Larson, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk Adolph Lindall was present. He ask for assistance from the village. There is some chance that he may be eligible for social security. The clerk agreed to take him to St. Cloud to talk to the social security office there. E.L. Shadick and Don Norris met with Council and asked if the zoning ordinance can be published soon. A motion was made by Kemper and seconded by Briggs to publish the zoning ordinance as soon as possible. Motion carried. John E. MacGibbon, Village attorney, will prepare a notice to be published the same time as the ordinance. The notice will have to do with possible changes that may be made in the ordinance. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Meyer to close out the Municipal Building fund and transfer the amount $5054.98 to the Liquor Store Reserve Fund and buy a Certificate of Deposit for $10,000.00. Motion carried. The following bills were allowed and ordered paid: Rooter and Johnson – grading 481.87 Doeblers Pure Oil – gas 2.65 P.E. Oscarson – gas, oil 91.61 Andys Electric – service 46.88 E.R. Utilities – fuel 33.85 Farm Bureau – gas, oil 32.00 E.R. Mch Shop – repairs 1.25 Tom’s Radio and TV – repairs 11.25 Geo Jenkins – curb 81.00 Bank of Elk River – insurance 696.23 First Nat’l Bank – insurance 125.00 First Nat’l Bank – insurance 532.94 George Moos – police 62.82 Ernest Nilson – police 30.45 Elk River Hdwe – mdse 5.45 Miller-Davis Co – blanks 4.38 Int. Salt Co – salt 222.00 City of Minneapolis – Mabel Thompson 117.85 Big Lake Gravel – gravel 210.00
