<br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 2, 1944 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on October 2, <br />1944, with all members present. <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Motion by Bailey and seconded by Kramer that Faltz, King, and Day be retained by the village to <br />assist in post-war planning and also give assistance regarding service and electric light business. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />A letter from the Elk River Power and Light Co. was received refusing the Village offer of <br />$25,000.00 for the local light plant. <br /> <br />Following is the levy approved for 1945: <br /> <br /> General Fund $6,000.00 <br /> Library Fund $ 750.00 <br /> R & B Fund $2,800.00 <br /> Poor Fund $ 800.00 <br /> Band & 2 Mills <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid. <br /> <br />Andrew Madson – rent - $40.00 <br />Leger Truck Line – freight - $11.50 <br />Dares Furniture Store – mdse - $26.40 <br />Oil Co. of Elk River – fuel - $21.65 <br />Jops-Olson Co. – Blanks - $2.80 <br />First National Bank, Stewart MN – safe - $140.00 <br />Coca-Cola Bottling Co – coca-cola - $21.95 <br />National Cash Reg.
