<br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 1, 1943 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on <br />November 1, 1943 <br /> <br />Members present Bailey, Shaddick, Leger, and Briggs. <br /> <br />Motion by Leger and seconded by Shaddick that the salary of the librarian, Mrs. Page be raised to <br />$30.00 a month straight salary instead of being paid by the hour. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk was instructed to send out bills for out of town fires responded to by the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Motion by Leger and seconded by Bailey that the following persons by appointed as judges and <br />clerks of election for the Village election on Dec. 7, 1943: <br /> <br />Judges: Mrs. Eva Foley <br /> Mrs. C.D. Kabbier <br /> John Anderson <br />Clerks: H.A. Briggs <br /> Mrs.W. Greganer <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk was instructed to post notices of election and have ballots printed. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Charles Nelson – Oct.
