<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 2, 1942 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on March 2, 1942 <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Mayor; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />The possibility of placing a street light in the front of the St. Andrews Hall was discussed and it was <br />felt that the street lights already in that block were adequate. <br /> <br />Permission was asked for the use of the council room in the Village Hall for the full time use of the <br />commodity allocation board for the duration of the war. A motion was made be G.A. Bailey and <br />seconded by Clinton Walker granting this permission without charge. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shadick granting reneewals of the <br />non-intoxicating malt liquor license “off” and “on” sale to Ida Burgoyne and R.C. O’Reilly. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Permission was granted to the Empire Wrecking Co. to wreak the building on the corner of <br />Princeton Street and Depot Street and erect a board fence within three feet of the outer edge of the <br />sidewalk. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid. <br /> <br />Peter Jack, Supplies and repairs $26.00 <br />Stamps Issuing Office, Relief Order $48.00 <br />Grayner Show Store, Relief Order $0.75 <br />Cagy Café, Trancient lunches, $3.45 <br />Francis Godfrey, Relief Order $5.00 <br />Raggatz Pure Oil, Supplies and Welding $13.32 <br />Card C.
