<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 5, 1942 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on January 5, 1942 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Harry Anderson, Mr. Kenneth Panney and Leslie Lange were present at the meeting and asked <br />for direct relief. <br /> <br />After discussing the cases with the clients a motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by G.A. <br />Bailey allowing Mr. Harry Anderson an eight dollar food stamp book. <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Panney four dollars for rent for Jan. One dollar for lights, an eight dollar food stamp <br />book and a lined work jacket. <br /> <br />Mr. Leslie Lange an eight dollar food stamp book and seven fifty for his rent for January. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A.Bailey and seconded by Frank Nickerson approving the five hundred <br />dollar bond of H.J.Pfeiffer for Justice of Peace. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following committees for the year 1942 were appointed by Mayor M.C. Tesch: <br />Road Committee – G.A. Bailey <br />Frank Nickerson <br />E.L. Shadick <br />Parks Committee - Clinton Walker <br />Frank Nickerson <br />E.L. Shadick <br />Relief Committee – Clinton Walker <br /> G.A. Bailey <br />Sewer Water Committee – E.L. Shadick <br />Frank Nickerson <br />G.A. Bailey <br />Clinton Walker <br />Liquor Committee – Frank Nickerson <br />Clinton Walker <br />G.A. Bailey <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shadick to appoint Dr. A.B Rochlke <br />as health officer for 1942. Motion carried <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by Frank Nickerson appointing Chas M. Nelson <br />as Marshal at a salary of $75 a month and $25 a month for the use of his car. As pumper at $35.00 a <br /> <br />
