<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 24, 1955 <br /> <br />A special meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Jan 24, 1955. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />The municipal liquor store report for 1954 was examined. Manager Balow was present and discussed <br />the progress of the liquor store business. <br /> <br />Mayor Schwartz reported on the possibility of having to buy a new fire truck also some village <br />buildings that may be necessary in the near future. <br /> <br />Councilman Meyer proposed the attached ordinance No. 46 regarding two hour parking and moved <br />its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Dow and put to a vote and passed all voting <br />in favor. <br /> <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />H.A. Briggs <br />Clerk <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 46 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN <br />HIGHWAYS WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA, AND IMPOSING <br />PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> <br />The Council of the Village of Elk River, Minnesota, do ordain as follows: <br /> <br />Section One (1). Parking Regulations. No person in charge of any vehicle shall park or permit such <br />vehicle to stand upon the following described highways within said Village of Elk River for more <br />than two (2) consecutive hours between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. excepting Sundays <br />and Holidays to-wit: <br />Main Street between Quincy Street and the intersection thereof with U.S. Highway No. 10; Quincy <br />Street between Main Street and U.S. Highway No. 10; U.S. Highway No. 10 between Quincy Street <br />and the intersection thereof with Main Street; Trunk Highway No. 101 between the North end of <br />the Mississippi River Bridge and the intersection thereof with U.S. Highway No. 10; and the <br />Southerly extension of Princeton Street between U.S. Highway No. 10 and Main Street. <br /> <br />Section Two (2). Penalty. Any person convicted of violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $5.00 or by <br />imprisonment in the County Jail for a period no to exceed 5 days. <br /> <br />th <br />Passed by the Village Council this 24 day of January. <br /> <br />
