Fobbe, District 5 <br />Thank you for the opportunity to provide comments concerning the establishment of tax increment <br />financing (TIF) district #26. <br />Sherburne County adopted an economic development strategic plan in 2018. That plan identifies the <br />county's intent to support the economic development efforts of our cities and other partners that help <br />enhance the quality of life for all residents, create and sustain living wage jobs, expand the county's <br />property tax base, and allow the county to be a partner with other public agencies and private sector <br />stakeholders. <br />Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 479.175, subdivision 2, and consistent with the county's economic <br />development strategic plan, Sherburne County submits the following comments: <br />The County Board supports the city's effort to encourage and facilitate the development of <br />the 20,000 sfwarehousing facility. The development, when complete, is projected to add <br />approximately $1,350,000 in taxable value. <br />2. The TIF district proposal has been reviewed by our Taxation Division staff and no <br />administrative issues were identified. <br />3. The TIF district proposal has been reviewed by our Public Works Department and one <br />administrative issue was identified. In order to ensure that there is no negative impact to the <br />downstream drainage system as a result of the proposed improvements and increased <br />impervious surface, a drainage report should be prepared that meets the standards and <br />requirements for the City of Elk River.
