<br /> <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 9.6 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Work Session September 21, 2020 Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Orono Park Plans Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Receive information and discussion about Orono Park Plans. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Orono Park Plans were presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission at the August regular meeting, <br />reviewed at a special meeting on August 27 and reviewed again at the September regular meeting. <br /> <br />The Commission unanimously agreed to proceed with the amenities shown by SRF Consulting. The highest <br />priorities were the skate park, splash pad, restroom building, picnic pavilion and pickleball courts. <br /> <br />SRF plans to present 90% construction documents at the November 11 Commission meeting and then City <br />Council will review the documents in December before they go out to bid early January 2021. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />The total cost estimates for the park amenities recommended by the Commission is just over $3 million.
