The
Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the dock proposal on May 8, 2019, and on August 12, 2020. The
Commission recommended the concept with the understanding that the initial installation and annual
installation of a dock be paid for from community donations.

Resident/Boat and Dock Enthusiast Shannon Tatro and Michael Hecker have approached local businesses
for financial assistance to install the dock. They met with Chris Carlson of Envision Company/ERX who has
committed through The Carlson Family Lightshield Foundation to cover 50% of the dock cost at
approximately $57,500.

Financial Impact
The product cost, site preparation and installation are approximately $115,000. Staff confirmed this cost
is valid through 2020. The cost to install and remove the dock annually is $4,800. Staff estimates the cost
to install a concrete transition/path to access the dock from the park is $10,000.

Attachments
 Proposed Dock Flyer

The Elk River Vision
A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional
service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity
