The director of this department
frequently begins their work schedule from different facilities depending on the day of the week, frequently
visits work sites and attends meetings outside of the city.

Instead of adding another dedicated vehicle to our fleet, we request to establish a $400 monthly vehicle
allowance. The allowance will cover all trips and mileage. It is anticipated to begin this payment in September
of 2020 and for months moving forward. The director has agreed to not request any back payment for their
previous use of their private vehicle for city purposes in previous months.

Financial Impact
The impact to this action accounts for an increase of approximately $4,800 to the overall budget. We
propose this expenditure would be split equally between all the public works budgets.

Attachments
None

The Elk River Vision
A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional
service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity
