Utilize <br />local partnerships and community connections to do <br />so. Continue discussing organics recycling where <br />feasible. <br />Decrease amount of waste going to landfill by 3% and increase <br />recycling participation by 3% <br />Increase residential recycling rates by improving <br />education, promote waste app and website <br />information via online promotion and handouts for <br />the Recycle Coach app and other programs. <br />Increase organics recycling via incentives for the <br />drop off program such as kitchen buckets and <br />containers (began in 2019 and continue as supplies <br />are available). Continue to provide information to <br />new residents on both items. <br />Promote and expand community Clean Up Day. <br />Host two events annually, expand list of item for <br />collection by program (carpet, mattresses, furniture). <br />Recycle more items and reduce amount sent to Elk <br />River Landfill (major change for 2019). Continue with <br />two events each year after spring 2020 event was <br />cancelled and we received many calls about other <br />disposal options. Promote other local recyclers <br />between events via social media and city website <br />(and resident phone calls). <br />Increase recycling in various aspects of the community <br />including local businesses, industries, events and schools. <br />Promote recycling for construction, remodeling and <br />new development in the city. Provide recycling at <br />community events as able and improve current <br />event recycling (Elk RiverFest).
