<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 6, 1950 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Nov 6, 1950. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> R. A. Ellingson, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ellingson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />A delegation from the local fire department was present. The members of the delegation informed <br />the council that they were negotiating with nearby towns for mutual help for fire protection. The <br />Council approved and agreed to cooperate. <br /> <br />There was discussion regarding the best way to collect the fee for sewer rental. The clerk was <br />instructed to contact the village attorney to see what can be done about a sewer rental ordinance. <br /> <br />Earl Hettrick, Manager of the Municipal Liquor Store, was present and gave an oral report of Liquor <br />Store business for the past month. Upon his recommendation a motion was made by Bailey and <br />seconded by Parent to refuse to sell liquor to Elroy Cornelius. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Bailey submitted the attached resolution and moved its adoption. Upon being put to a <br />vote the resolution was passed, all members voting in favor. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Whereas, the Rural Cooperative Power Association has brought an action in the District Court of <br />Sherburne County to register title to certain real estate in said County, and <br />Whereas, the Village of Elk River is an adjoining landowner, owning land adjacent to and abutting <br />the land that is the subject of the aforesaid action, and <br />Whereas, the Village of Elk River by and through its governing body, the Village Council, is fully <br />aware and informed that any adjudication by the District Court in said action can and will affect the <br />legal rights of the Village of Elk River. <br /> <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Village of Elk River by this action of its lawful governing <br />body, does hereby consent to the jurisdiction of the District Court of Sherburne County for the <br />purpose of being made a party defendant in the aforesaid action and to any and all judgements, <br />decrees, or orders entered therein by such court, and said village does hereby waive all service of <br />process in said action. <br /> <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />Ray A Ellingson, Mayor <br />H.A.
