VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING August 7, 1950 A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Aug 7, 1950. Members present: R. A. Ellingson, Mayor; Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The matter of Fire Department calls outside the village was discussed. It was decided to instruct the clerk to write to surrounding townships and inform them that there will be no more calls answered in the county after Oct 1, 1950 unless each township agrees to pay $50.00 for each fire call. The townships are to collect from the fire insurance company or the property owner. A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Briggs to transfer $1500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund. Motion carried. The clerk was asked to contact Mr. Opleim as to the legal residence of John Swanson. There was discussion regarding Liquor Store Funds and oiling certain streets. Building permit of C.B. Kleiner was approved.
