<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 6, 1948 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on July 6, 1948. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Elmer Leger, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Odegard. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Earl Kress asked about the sewer tax on his lots. The Council agreed to have Wm Frantz investigate <br />the matter of the tax. <br /> <br />Charles Nelson reported that the furnace at the Village Hall needs repair or rebuilding. It was agreed <br />to have Albert Middlestadt take the furnace down and see if it will pay to have it repaired. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Ellingson and seconded by Briggs to authorize the following transfer of <br />funds: <br />June 11, 1948 $1500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund <br />June 18, 1948 $1212.51 from the Sewer Assessment Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund <br />June 25, 1948 $1500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Const Fund <br />June 30, 1948 $1800.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Const Fund <br /> <br />The motion carried. <br /> <br />The following Building Permits were approved: <br />L.A. Dare <br />Wm Roggatz Jr <br />G.A. Bailey <br />Mrs. Leslie Rowe <br /> <br />All members voted in favor. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ellingson to begin payments to Mrs. Alden Taylor <br />of $25.00 per month for care of Miss Kenniston beginning with the June payment. Carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Carl Marohn – sidewalk work 86.25 <br />Fred Damer – sidewalk work 95.63 <br />Hoglunds Greenhouse – flowers 56.00 <br />N.W. Bell Telephone Co – June 14.30 <br />Coast to Coast Store – mdse 7.68 <br />Dick Wombill – street work 10.40 <br />J.G. Ostby - assessing 530.00 <br />Zella M Page – salary 45.00 <br /> <br />
