<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 27, 1947 <br /> <br />A special meeting was held at Mayor Davison’s office on Oct 27, 1947. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Glenn Davidson, Mayor: Elmer Leger, Walter L Johnson, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; <br />H.A. Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />The following tax levy was made for 1948: <br />General Fund 6000.00 <br />Road and Bridge 2800.00 <br />Library 750.00 <br />Poor Fund 600.00 <br />Band 2 mills <br /> <br />There was a discussion regarding sewer assessments against tax exempt property such as Sherburne <br />County, village schools and churches situated in the village. Upon motion by Ellingson and a second <br />by Leger the Council agreed to forgive sewer tax against Sherburne County, the school and several <br />churches in the village and the clerk was instructed to write all parties concerned.
