<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 2, 1947 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on Sept 2, 1947. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Mayor Glenn Davidson, Elmer Leger, Walter L Johnson, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; <br />H.A. Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meetings were read and approved. <br /> <br />Martin Foley was present and made a complaint about Mrs. Selhauer’s dog saying that the dog bit <br />his boy and one or two other children. Mrs. Selhauer was also present and stated her side of the <br />case. A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Leger to have Marshall Nelson and Dr. <br />Roeblke investigate the matter and take proper action. <br /> <br />Alfred Brown inquired regarding opening of street toward main highway and the clerk was <br />instructed to have Wm Brown make a survey of the proposed street. <br /> <br />Application for on and off beer license by Joseph J Novak was approved. <br /> <br />The Council decided to advertise for bids for a new car suitable for police patrol work. Also for <br />th <br />shovel for sewer work, both bids to be opened on Sept 11 1947 at 8 P.M. <br /> <br />th <br />It was also decided to extend the time on applications for Marshall to Sept 11. <br /> <br />On account of vacancy at Liquor Store a motion was made by Leger and seconded by Ellingson to <br />hire Denny Kilmartin at a salary of $160.00 a month. Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Ellingson and seconded by Leger to reject all bids for the sewage disposal <br />plant. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br /> <br />J.H. Daly – June, July salary 33.32 <br />Jones and Gemion – painting flag pole 12.00 <br />Joyce Wilson – lifeguard 7.97 <br />Charles M Nelson – Aug salary 147.50 <br />H.A. Briggs – Aug salary 40.00 <br />V.A. Burgoyne – hauling tar <br />N.W. Bell telephone Co – Aug 10.55 <br />Farnbaum Co – bleachers 446.80 <br />Zella M Page – janitor service 7.50 <br />Warner Hdwe Co – baseball mdse 13.32 <br />Sherburne County – pub notice 3.61 <br /> <br />
