<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 2, 1947 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on June 2, 1947. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Mayor Glenn Davidson, Elmer Leger, Walter L Johnson, R.A. Ellingson; H.A. <br />Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Carl Marohn asked about having water available to his property as he would not be able to use the <br />sewer without water. The matter was turned over to Mr. Wombill to decide the best way to handle <br />the situation. <br /> <br />Lee Bishop complained to the council that on account of low voltage caused by failure of the <br />R.E.A., one of this large electric motors was burned out. He claeimed he should have damages from <br />the village. The council promised to give the matter proper consideration. <br /> <br />Vernon Hettrick, operator of the Standard Oil Station, reported that patrons of the greyhound bus <br />use his restrooms and office to the exculsion of his regular customers and that bus passengers <br />obstruct the drive way. He asked that the council do something about correcting the situation. The <br />clerk was instructed to write the Greyhound Bus Co asking them to send up a man right away to <br />help make some satisfactory arrangement. <br /> <br />Howard Wakefield asked about supplying water to lots owned by himself and Walter Johnson. <br /> <br />The clerk was instructed to order an abstract of lots recently purchased by Morris Wilson. <br /> <br />Motion by Leger and seconded by Ellingson to transfer $5000.00 from the Liquor fund to the <br />General fund. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Johnson and seconded by Leger to transfer $5000.00 from the General fund to the Sewer <br />Construction Fund. Carried. <br /> <br />The following building permits were allowed: <br />L.G. Lamon <br />Dale Leigh <br />Lars Larson <br /> <br />Trustee Ellingson presented the following milk ordinance and moved it’s adoption (See ordinance <br />book) It was seconded by Trustee Leger and passed all members voting aye. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Miller-Davis Co – blanks for clerk 5.67 <br />First Nat’l Bank – insurance 12.96 <br /> <br />
