Carried.

L.A. Dare and R.K. Wilson brought up the matter of a new depot for Elk River. After considerable
discussion Trustee Skellenger presented the following resolution and moved its adoption.

Resolution
We, the Elk River Village Council, hereby respectfully request that due consideration be given to the
matter of building a new depot at Elk River for the following reasons:
The present depot is 81 years old. It is unsanitary, unsightly, a fire hazard and poorly lighted.

The village is undertaking a comprehensive program of improvements designed to modernize the
village, provide proper sanitation, fire protection, lighting, beautify the streets, and in general make
the community a more desirable place in which to live and do business.

The village council believes that we are entitled to a new, modern depot which will adequately take
care of passenger, freight, Western Union and express customers.

Trustee Leger seconded the resolution and it was carried unanimously.

The clerk was instructed to send copies of the resolution to the Great Northern Ry Co., the
Northern Pacific Ry Co. and to the Railroad and Warehouse Commission.
