Some of the following project milestones have recently been discussed: <br /> Competition Rink opens July 13 for ice rentals <br /> Parking Lot completed by late August (ISD 728) <br /> Fieldhouse opens by early October <br /> Senior Center opens October 1 <br /> <br />Based on this schedule and the current COVID protocols, staff is recommending not re-opening the current <br />Activity Center and focus on transiting into the new senior center October 1. Current state and federal <br />guidelines require Covid-19 safety protocols be followed; and according to the most recent emergency <br />declaration order, it is recommended vulnerable populations stay home. Additional recommendations to <br />support an October 1 opening include the following: <br /> Air conditioning in current facility is failing <br /> Staff can prepare for the move and educate seniors on the new operations <br /> Most senior centers in MN are using a phased approach to opening <br /> <br />It we find during the summer months through September, we are allowed lager groups with vulnerable <br />population in an indoor setting, staff can use the Trott Brook Farm for some programming. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />N/A <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> N/A <br /> <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional <br />service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity <br />
