Sherburne County Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2020 <br />CITY OF CLEAR LAKE <br />Part A: Past Events & Vulnerability Assessment <br />1. In the last 5 years, has your community experienced any severe weather or disaster events <br />that posed risk to life safety, caused property damage, or incurred costs for recovery? No. <br />2. In the last 5 years, has your community taken any particular actions to reduce the <br />vulnerability of your community against future severe weather or disaster events? Yes, we <br />have sent out notices in regards to the county emergency alert system as well as notifications <br />are being made on the City's Facebook page. <br />In the past 5 years, has anything, especially related to zoning or development, changed <br />that you feel has increased your community's vulnerability to future severe weather or <br />disaster events? No. <br />4. What concerns do you have / what mitigation actions do you think would help your <br />community to reduce or eliminate risk against future severe weather or disaster events? <br />Continue to encourage residents to sign up for CodeRED. <br />Part B: Local Mitigation Capabilities Assessment <br />1. What plans, authorities, or policies are in place to help accomplish mitigation in your <br />community? We have a floodplain ordinance and a comprehensive plan. <br />2. What staff (organizational capacityl are in place to help accomplish mitigation in your <br />community? Our Fire Chief is the City's designated Emergency Manager. We have a City <br />Engineer and a Public Works Director that assess all road maintenance needs. <br />What programs are in place to help accomplish mitigation in your community? Our Fire <br />Department hosts an annual open house event; we even visit our local daycares. We report any <br />and all pertinent information on our Facebook page. We encourage our residents to sign up for <br />the county's emergency alert system. <br />4. What funding or other resources are available to help accomplish mitigation in your <br />community? N/A. <br />5. What program gaps or deficiencies do you feel exist that are a barrier to accomplishing <br />mitigation in your community?
