Sherburne County Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2020 <br />Following is a report on the status of mitigation actions listed for all -hazard and natural hazards listed in <br />Section V: Mitigation Strategies of the Sherburne County 2oi3 Hazard Mitigation Plan. Objective 3: Improve <br />the City of Zimmerman's <br />public warning system. <br />(Goal 2) Objective is Improve <br />multi -agency response to all <br />emergencies and disasters. <br />(Goal 2) Objective 2: Develop <br />and implement countywide fire <br />training program. <br />(Goal 3) Objective z: Conduct a <br />public education campaign to <br />raise community awareness <br />about disasters. <br />(Goal 3) Objective 2: Create <br />comprehensive local <br />emergency planning material <br />for the City of Elk River, <br />including printed material and <br />videos. <br />(Goal 3) Objective 3: Train <br />All -Hazards citizens in Community <br />Emergency Response Team <br />(CERT) training. <br />(Goal 4) Objective is Upgrade <br />All -Hazards technology capabilities in <br />jurisdiction EOCs. <br />This is a comprehensive and costly project. <br />The city of Elk River, Sherburne County, <br />Ongoing and local big private businesses continue to <br />work together to find a solution for this <br />project. <br />Sherburne County purchased a notification <br />Completed system called CodeRED which is utilized <br />city and county wide, as well as integrated <br />into our gii. system and IPAWs. <br />The city of Zimmerman has recently <br />Completed replaced problematic sirens, as well as <br />utilizes Code Red the mass notification <br />system for public warning. <br />Several city and county officials completed <br />a nationally recognized an all hazards <br />Completed incident management course, several ICS <br />trainings, and participates regularly in all <br />hazards exercises. <br />Not relevant for MHMP update.
