Sherburne County Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2020 <br />Record of Public Input & Incorporation <br />News Release #1-January 3, 2019, "Public Feedback Sought for Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan" <br />On January 3, 2019, Sherburne County Emergency Management put out a news release announcing the <br />start of the County's Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan. The news release was shared via numerous channels <br />to reach the public, including the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office website, Facebook and Twitter <br />postings as well as distribution to local media (St. Cloud Paper online). The news release provided <br />information on the purpose and content of the plan, who the plan covers, stakeholders involved in the <br />plan update and examples of hazard mitigation activities. <br />Sherburne County used the news release to gather feedback from residents and businesses from across <br />the County to incorporate into the plan, inviting feedback to the following: <br />• What are the natural hazards you feel pose the greatest risk to your community? <br />• Have you experienced a previous disaster event? <br />• What concerns do you have, and what sorts of mitigation actions or projects do you feel would <br />help to reduce the damages of potential future events for your personal property, your <br />community, or the County as a whole? <br />The public was strongly encouraged contact Sherburne County Emergency Management to submit <br />comments, concerns, or questions regarding natural disasters and potential mitigation actions to be <br />included into the plan update process. <br />Appendix F contains documentation of the means of public outreach for News Release #i. <br />Record of Public Input & Incorporation: <br />Sherburne County Emergency Management did not receive any public input following News Release <br />#i. <br />News Release #2 — January, 13, 2020, "Public Review and Feedback Invited for County's Multi - <br />Hazard Mitigation Plan" <br />On January, 3.3, 2020 Sherburne County Emergency Management put out a news release announcing <br />the completion of the draft Sherburne County Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan and invitation for public <br />review and comment. The news release was shared via numerous channels to reach the public, <br />including the Sherburne County Website, Sherburne County Sheriff's Office Facebook & Twitter <br />postings. Sherburne County Emergency Management Director also sent an email directly to all city <br />representatives encouraging them to share the news release locally on their city website or social <br />media. Planning team members were also sent an email inviting their review, feedback and <br />confirmation of plan review. The news release informed the public that a copy of the draft MHMP and a <br />survey for public feedback was available online at.https://sites.google.com/d.umn.edu/sherburne- <br />county/home. The public feedback period forthe draft plan was open from January,13, 2020 to <br />January, 27, 2020, for a total of 3.5 days. <br />Page I F - 2 <br />
