UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO:FROM:
ERMU CommissionChris Kerzman– Engineering Manager
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
May 12, 20206.1k
SUBJECT:
Staff Update
ACTION REQUESTED:
None
DISCUSSION:
Power System Engineering (PSE) has completed review of the approval drawings for the
power plant transformer, and the manufacturer is moving forward with the
transformer. PSE is also moving forward with designof the substation layout and
remaining equipment.
The Field Services Building Expansion Workgroup met with Kodet electronically on April
15 and 29 to review the plans. We have worked to revise the footprint to meet our
needs, with plans for expansion to meet future growth. We are planning to gather input
from our field crews before our next scheduled meeting on May 20, which will likelybe
another electronic meeting. Commissioners on the Field Services Building Expansion
Workgroup are invited to attend.

We are coordinating the budget for the Field Services Building expansion with the rate
study presented at the May commission meeting. Kodet has advised that they expect
pricing will be favorable if the project is bid at the end of this year and they are
exploring options to complete design and bid preparation work this year. We are
considering paying for the design, bid preparation, and bid administration costs out of
reserves and replenishing them from bonding in 2021. We expect to update the
commission on this at the June commission meeting.

Parker Theisen has been hired as our IT/OT technician, with a start date of May 11. We
are excited to have him on board.
______________________________________________________________________________
Page 1 of 1
224
