City Council Minutes Page 8 <br />April 20, 2020 <br />Eventually, the planting areas on Hwy 169 will be altered due to the Hwy 169 <br />Redefine project. <br />Councilmember Ovall would like to see more uniformity and consistency among the <br />prairie grass medians and desires future options include some attractive grasses while <br />considering tolerance to road salt. <br />9.5 Concept Review: Senior Housing Development, Wapiti Campground <br />Mr. Carlton presented the staff report. <br />Mayor Dietz said that a Senior Living building seemed out of place in that location. <br />Councilmember Wagner asked if there was a need for additional Senior Living (55+) <br />housing. <br />Mr. Carlton stated the owners had conducted a site study market analysis that had <br />shown a desire for this use in the city. <br />Councilmember Ovall agreed that it didn't seem to fit that location. High density <br />housing typically was built with walking paths and closer to retail and amenities. This <br />location seems more conducive to single family housing. <br />The Council agreed that the landowner should move toward something that is <br />similar to what is allowed in this zoning district. <br />10.
