<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />City Council/Board of Appeal Meeting <br />NOTICE OF MEETING BY TELEPHONE OR OTHER ELECTRONIC MEANS <br />Meeting pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 13D.021 <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the City Council, acting as the Board of Appeal, of the City of Elk <br />River will hold a special Board of Appeal meeting on Monday, April 27, 2020, 6:00 p.m. at Elk River <br />City Hall. <br /> <br />In accordance with the requirements of Minn. Stat. Section 13D.021, Mayor John J. Dietz has <br />determined an in-person meeting is not practical or prudent because of the COVID-19 health <br />pandemic declared under Chapter 12 of the Minnesota Statutes. <br /> <br />Because of the COVID-19 health pandemic, it has been determined that attendance at the regular <br />meeting location by members of the public is not feasible. <br /> <br />Because of the COVID-19 health pandemic, it has been determined that physical presence at the <br />regular meeting location by members of the City Council is not feasible. <br /> <br />Therefore, some or all the City Council members may be participating by telephone or other <br />electronic means. At least one council member of the city council, the city administrator, or the city <br />attorney, will be present at the regular meeting location. <br /> <br />Members of the public may monitor the meeting by tuning in to ErTV Channel 180 or by visiting <br />our website at https://www.elkrivermn.gov/WatchMeetings . <br /> <br />Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting closure of city facilities, public comments will <br />not be taken during the virtual meeting, however if you disagree with the valuation or classification <br />of your property the first step is to contact the county assessor to discuss your concerns at <br />763.765.4900. It is assumed the assessor has properly valued and classified a property and the <br />burden of proof rests with the property owner who must present factual evidence to disprove the <br />assessor’s value or classification. This factual evidence can be submitted to the Board of Appeal and <br />Equalization via USPS to 13065 Orono Parkway, or via email to cportner@ElkRiverMN.gov. Please <br />be sure “Board of Appeal” is indicated in the email subject line. Note that all public comment is <br />considered Public Data. <br /> <br /> <br />
