UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />April 14, 2020 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Delivered sevennew water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from threewater services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmednegative for Coliform Bacteria <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 22 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plantto the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br />Completed and submitted the 2019 Water Conservation Report to DNR. <br /> We opened the gates at the Lake Orono Dam on March 16 to meet the demand of <br />increased, incoming water flow from the spring snow melt. The lake level is checked <br />dailyand gates are adjustedaccordinglyto control waterflow. <br /> On March 30 work resumed on the Auburn Street Water Tower Rehabilitation Project. <br />Work on the tower itself should be completed by May 15, at that point the cell phone <br />provider antennas can be reinstalled on the tower. <br />The vacant Water Operator Position was offered to andaccepted byAustin Kremers. He <br />is scheduled to start April 13. <br />The water operators have safely continued daily operation of municipal wellsandwater <br />treatment plants.
